hurricane in the heartland

The winds here in Minneapolis are still strong tonight.  It didn't get as bad as feared.  I did read one news account that stated we set a new Minnesota record for low barometric pressure reading.

Still, though, can anyone tell me if we noticed a hurricane-force cyclonic storm forming in the middle of the North American continent prior to that big-

Thanks for the links. Apparently it has happened before, at least in recent years. Very odd. It seems like such an important development, I'm rather surprised that I haven't heard "land hurricanes" as another one of the unpleasant side effects to global temperature change.
