It's hard to understand, and I've only caught bits and pieces. Genesis and Angeal were together and Sephiroth figured in somewhere. Then Angeal and Zack were together or getting together. Genesis might have been the block there. Genesis gone, that leaves them to get together.

Then there's Sephiroth who, until recently, was crazier than a shithouse rat and trying to kill everyone. When Genesis first got here, he and Sephiroth had some sort of fight, and they seemed to hate each other then. It's tangled.

He said himself that Angeal would be upset if Genesis were gone. He might be faking it to cover up what he did.
