Yeah, I paid $4.49 for the lowest grade yesterday, then saw it was $4.69-$4.89 across the bay where the prices tend to be higher. It'll be $5 by the end of the summer. We're riding bikes more, combining errands more, taking BART more, etc. -- but there are configurations here for which public transit just sucks, as our hard transit infrastructure was designed for where workplaces were 40 years ago, not where they are now.

Yeah, I'm a "reverse commuter", as much as there is such a thing in Seattle, which is annoying when bussing and not very helpful when driving. Maybe if there are more transit riders they'll change something...or maybe I could get a boat and start sailing across the lake instead...

i haven't had to fill up my car since the 26th and i paid $3.99 then. i'm dreading going to the pumps again. and here in rochester the buses suck. it would take me 26 minutes to go about 2 miles to the grocery store. over an hour to go 4ish miles to the mall. it's ridiculous.

Does the recommended bus trip include taking the 3 to the bus tunnel?

The 4 downtown, and then the Seattle-Redmond express full of Microsoft contractors who can't ride the fancy blue badge bus. The only real downside is that it involves leaving at 7;30, instead of waking up at 7:30.
