With the exception of the period where I was getting out, we pretty much don't worry about it*.
It's one of the reasons why I do what I do. Which is to say that one of my primary desires in financial terms is to have enough where I can buy what I want, when I want and not really have to think about the "can we afford this".
The rest of my family worries about money. My mother doesn't worry about money, she just gets herself in amazing jams that result in bankruptcy.
*The caveat is the whole 'retirement' thing, so we do save _a lot_. (To the tune of somewhere between 30-50% of our income.) Call it a function of my Depression-era upbringing. I store food and money in unreasonable quantities.

"Enough" is some mysterious quantity determined by someone else that is unobtainable. The important thing is I can manage.
One night driving home I became aware that I'd realized my childhood goal of taking care of myself. Worry packed its bags.
