Don't you just love growly Billy? ;-)

Jes' original is a tender look at Billy carefully coaxing Don to let go. It made me want to bodysnatch Mr. Trust Issues Eppes for a while. Yum.

As delicious as her version was, I couldn't resist roughing them up and bringing some power struggle into it. It took me a long time to strike the right notes and prepare for the ending, but I knew I wanted to highlight Don's struggle to submit, and illuminate what changed between them after the blindfold went on, to allow him to do so. After many incomplete or unsuccessful tries, I feel satisfied with this version.

Many thanks to beta emmademarais for a) bugging me repeatedly to sign up at remixthedrabble, b) for long, thinky talks about the nature of remixes and how to best approach one, and c) pushing me to really nail this fic, refusing to let me give up until I accomplished what I set out to achieve.

Thanks also to jestana for writing the original story, and putting these two in a situation I could. not. resist. I'm so happy it pleased you, sweetie ( ... )

Yay! It's up!

I liked Jes' version and I like this one for different reasons which is kind of cool in a remixy way. They both bring different things to the table of the same story, the elicit slightly different responses and give unique perspectives on the same event. In short, nice remix!

I'm glad you persevered and kept reworking this until you nailed Don's shift. That was the crux of your remix and now that it's there you can see why I was poking you to go further the whole time.

Go you for not just finishing one ficathon fic on time, but two! (And one without any help from me AT ALL!) /applauds/

Here's to more fic from you!

I know, right? So. Much. Fun. I love remixing!

In short, nice remix!

:blushes: Thank you.

Yes, I had a hard time articulating that aspect, but it was worth it. Thanks for your help!

Hehehee yeah, I was really scared in the beginning that I wouldn't be able to pull off a whole remix without you. Thankfully, I could repurpose your advise on this one for both. :) Plus penguingal gives very good pep talks and hand holding ( ... )

Also, is there any chance you'll come play at remixthedrabble next round?

How did I miss this comment? *smacks forehead*

I apologize for taking so long. And yes, I probably will; I didn't this time due to overload only.
