I'm torn about whether to look for the book at my own library. I can imagine it may not be there, but I'd rather buy it and donate it than create a hassle. a) I don't exactly live in a liberal-minded community b) I bug them a lot for inter-library loans, research assistance, etc. c) I don't volunteer on library boards or whatever, so I shouldn't snipe.

But by the same token, geez louise. How far will this kind of nonsense go, out of me and people like me being 'nice?' I should maybe grow a spine, huh?

I wonder if there's a way to make my opinion known while still expressing appreciation? ::contemplates cookie recipes::

Well there's the problem, I expect that public librarians especially childrens librarian's are closely inspected and are doing there best to please everyone (which we all know is impossible) you could enquire and they don't have it, donate a few childrens books and see what happens.
