Doing this almost killed me, lol.
A Sadie Harris Picspam.
CONTAINS SPOILERS UP TO 5x15 'BEFORE AND AFTER'.
Just a few words to explain why I did this picspam.
I'm not a Grey's Anatomy fan, I just watched it randomly on tv, but nothing too serious or dedicated. Since Melissa is one of my favorite actresses, I was quite excited to see her back on tv, that's why I decided to follow the fifth season of GA. Reading interviews and articles I was sure Sadie was going to rock! Melissa always sounded much excited about the project, so... I trusted her, LOL. But she entered the show in a very delicate moment, Brooke Smith had just been fired, and all the Callica fans were protesting against Shonda and the ABC for those anti-gay rumours. I think lots of people hated her even before she actually arrived in the show, believing she was the anti-Erica, or something like that, and that's a pity, imo.
These Ties That Bind.
I loved how Sadie's been introduced! She seems a wild spirit, and, aside from Meredith, nobody seems to like her at the beginning.
I liked that she always takes the situation in her hands... she takes risks, she's wrong most of the times, but I thought that was human.
Sadie: This woman is the reason I went to med school in the first place. I figured if a slacker like Death -
Christina: Mer. Mer.
Sadie: - could slicing people open, then I could too.
Derek: Meredith's not a slacker.
Sadie: Oh, I could tell you some stories.
Meredith: But you won't.
Christina: So Sadie, you postponed your residency to work in a morgue?
Sadie: Yeah, you know, a lot of the fun cutting, none of the rules. But I got bored. Started craving blood that was flowing.
Meredith: And know you're here. I can't believe you're here.
Christina: Yay.
In The Midnight Hour.
The last scene involving Sadie in this episode, was interesting. I liked the conversation she has with Meredith. Sadie's weird, she's obviously really troubled, and I would have liked to see more of that.
Sadie: Okay, fine. The surgery was a bad idea.
Meredith: No, it was a terrible idea. And speaking as your boss, It was an irresponsible and reckless idea That makes me seriously question If you have what it takes to be a good doctor.
Sadie: Death -
Meredith: And as your friend... what the hell is going on with you?
Sadie: I don't know.
All By Myself.
I may be the only one, but the flirting with Callie was cute. We never actually understand if Sadie's interested in Callie, but their scenes are fun! All those misunderstandings, and blushing, lol. Cute!
I also liked how the Sadie/Lexie friendship (or whatever you're going to call their relationship) keeps growing.
Also, kudos to Sadie for trying to get both Meredith and Christina out of troubles because of the surgery-thing. She feels guilty, and the fact that she can't bear it, it's a positive thing, right? She's not that bitchy!
Sadie: Beautiful.
Callie: What?
Sadie: Your necklace.
Callie: Right. I have to go.
Sadie: See ya.
Wish You Were Here.
I loved more Sadie/Callie! I think it would've been much more interesting than Callie/Arizona (well, for now, since aside from that random kiss, nothing happened between the two of them).
The final Sadie's speech to Meredith is cute, she tries to convince her to solve things with Christina, and I thought it's .. well, altruistic, right?
Sadie: You want to get a drink?
Meredith: I'm not in the mood.
Sadie: You know, you and I had a fight like this once.
Meredith: What?
Sadie: Amsterdam. We used to be as close as you and Cristina, and then Amsterdam happened, and you shut me down, and we never got past it. We still hung out, but - but not like before. We'd go dancing, go someplace loud where we don't have to talk. And that's okay. I'm a - I'm a rolling stone. I bounce. But you're about to do the same thing to Cristina, and that girl mates for life. If you don't make it right, she'll never talk to you again.
Meredith: I apologized... to Caristina.
Sadie: Like you meant it? Like you could imagine she had a point? I miss you. As my friend,I miss you.
Sympathy For The Devil.
My favorite Sadie episode along with the next one! Those Miranda/Sadie scenes are crazy. I thought she's even sweet when Mirand reproaches her. That raise-your-hand-thing is crazy XD I also really liked the final scene between the two of them: it let us see another side of Sadie. She's not stupid, and she's weak. That could've been interesting, I think.
Sadie: Are we ever gonna find out why it clotted off?
Miranda: Sometimes the body - the pieces just break.
Sadie: I'm like that.
Miranda: Yeah? You dying for no good reason?
Sadie: No, my life is in pieces... all the time. And... they just keep breaking. And as one as I fix one, another one goes down. Listen, I'm not trying to piss you off by being here. I'm just trying to... keep it together, you know, piece by piece.
Stairway To Heaven.
I loved how Sadie protects Lexie from the other interns. At the ending, Lexie calls her a friend (while talking to Mark), and I thought it was really cute. Finally, more GA fans said they started to like Sadie and I was happy XD
Intern #1: I heard it was this physical therapist, from the rehab floor who does this fancy yoga thing where she, like, turns herself into a pretzel while she's on top of a guy.
Intern #2: She quit two weeks ago.
Lucy: I thought it was Torres.
Ryan: Well, whoever it was is doing down in Seattle Grace history. Sloan is a legend. Can you imagine the kind of muscle it takes to break a man like that?! I mean -
Lexie: Shut up. Just shut up about it.
Ryan: You know something.
Lexie: Yeah, I-I know it's nobody's business.
Intern #2: She totally knows something. Did you see someone come out of the room?
Lucy: Maybe it was her.
Lexie: What?!
Sadie: It was me, okay? It was me. I do this twist-and-shout thing that blows most guys' minds. And I guess I twisted a little bit too far and almost took the whole thing off - okay?
Beat Your Heart Out.
Loved loved the Izzie/Sadie scenes! I would have liked more interaction between the two of them (these episodes also helped me remember why I like Izzie so much). I totally think Sadie mixed the blood test results, Y/Y? I'm afraid her actions will have lots of consequences for Izzie.
Sadie: Dr. Stevens, I have the blood test results.
Izzie: What is it?
Sadie: Well, you're anemic. Um -
Izzie: Anemic? Oh my God. Do you realize what you just did? Your face said I was going to die, not "go get a hamburger".
Sadie: Well, see... I-I...
Izzie: That's part of patient care, controlling your face.
Sadie: I-I... just w-anemic.
Izzie: This is fine. This is no big deal. It's, like, nothing. How's Mrs... what's her name?
Sadie: That's not good, is it?
Izzie: Yeah, no. Her I.D.H. is off the charts.
Sadie: Oh, what is it? Is it- Is it cancer?
Izzie: Consult oncology. Start a workup. It's okay, we'll tell her together.
Sadie: Thank you.
Before and After.
The ending was weird. Sadie suddenly turns into a total bitch who plays with people's lives. I was SO disappointed by this. She's not the best doctor ever (not at all), but she didn't look so IDIOT and MAD at the beginning. She even helps during Jackson's surgery, and then? Okay, they needed to write her off because Melissa wanted to leave the show, but that was just too fast! They made us see just the bad side of her, and it was a pity, imo.
Meredith: What happened?
Sadie: I quit. O'Malley is a little narc. I'd rather be deemed a quitter than a cheater.
Meredith: Did you cheat your way to enter the program?
Sadie: Listen, I'm not book smart. You know that... I learn on my feet. I thought if I came to where you were, you could...
Meredith: Pull you through.
Sadie: We've seen each other through a lot.
Meredith: We're not 25, sleeping our way through Europe anymore.
Sadie: We could though. Think about it. We could get on a plane tonight. We could go -
Meredith: No, no. I can't. I have to work. I can't just...
Sadie: Wow, you know... they've sucked the life right out the Meredith I used to know -
Meredith: - is right here. I'm here. I just don't want to sleep my way through Europe anymore. I want to be here. I want to be here.
All in all, I'm happy I had the chance to see Melissa on tv again, but OMG! ABC, you might want to spend your money better, for storylines and characters that work, not to pay actors promising them for certain characters that quickly turn out in useless-figures in the show. Sadie was .. well, useless? Melissa said Shonda promised her an interesting character, with the whole Callie/Sadie thing, but then the script kept becoming shorter and shorter, and that's why she decided to leave. Or at least, that's what Melissa said. I believe her, since those ABC producers aren't really brilliant people (don't know if you read that interview where this producer just bashed both Brooke and Melissa. And he didn't even know for how many episodes Sadie would have been in the show, lol).
So, that's it. She's gone now, and I know nobody will miss her XD
Hope you enjoyed the picspam anyway! :)
