I definitely want to go; the only possible problem might be my housing situation at that time. Yes, I'm planning to buy a house. I hope to start searching in earnest in one year, but it might be 18 months, and then how long before I find the right house?

A trip to Australia will run at least 10 grand, and that's half the down payment on a house.

So my answer is "Yay! I want to go!" followed by "But I need more freelance work!"

Having your own house would be wonderful, so I say "Yay house!"
On the other hand, I want you to come to Aussiecon ;]

$10,000 to come to Australia? Goodness me. I know the flights can be expensive, but... Were you planning to go adventuring after the conference?
