Piano in the middle of some dense forest, Junsu could hear the melody floating in the air as he was approaching it. As the singer was about to see who’s playing it, he was woken up by his cell-phone. Junsu flipped the screen without opening his eyes and pressed it to the sensitive ear. “Yeah?.. Seriously? Shit, it’s 10AM already? We’ll be right back in the office. We? Me and Junho. Yeah… You’re asking too much, Minjae. I have to get up, bye. See you later. ”
Junsu could feel a certain someone breathing on the back of his neck. He knew they had to hurry, because they overslept, but he felt amused and surprised. Junsu wasn’t the kind of person to sleep a lot, especially after he lost Jin, and tonight it was different. He noticed their position remained the same since the moment they fell asleep.
It felt peaceful to lie like that, hearing Junho’s deep breathing, feeling it on his neck, feeling him being alive. Junsu exhaled. He felt Junho’s fingers twitching on his waist as he moved a bit, the boy was dreaming about something.
Junsu turned around and let himself to stare at Junho’s sleeping face.
Just a bit, he promised to himself.
The longer he was looking at Junho’s face, the more he could see the differences between him and Jin. Like, Junho’s eye lashes were longer, nose a bit higher, lips slightly thicker and he had a tiny, almost invisible wrinkle from frowning on his forehead.
“Junho…” His tone was serene, after a long time Junsu had to wake up someone beside him.
The sleeping body moved a bit, showing the signs of awakening. “Junho…”
There it was. His eye lashes fluttered, letting the drowsy eyes to adjust to the day light. Then, they travelled to Junsu’s face and analyzed it. “Oh, hi.”
Junsu smiled, being amused by Junho’s sleepy face. “If we don’t get up in 5 minutes, we’re dead meat. We’re already late by two hours.”
Junho’s eyes got bigger, the dread of being told off by their boss reflecting. “Shit.” He jumped out of the bed, really not thinking about how to do it properly and forgetting that Junsu’s floor is slippery.
“Wai-” Junsu was too late, but he was laughing instead of trying to help the poor boy to stand up. He could see a butt raising off the floor, then a frowned face directed at him. Junho was cussing silently, throwing the sheets on Junsu as a revenge for laughing.
“Shit, you should get a carpet, I don’t want to break my leg.” His voice cracked at the last word, making the angry act to go wasted. Junho cleared his throat.
“You’re saying it like you’re going to be a frequent visitor here…” Junsu stood up, looking for his pants and glancing at half naked Junho, searching for his own shirt.
“Maybe I’m going to be a frequent visitor.” Now Junho looked a bit offended.
“Don’t be angry, Ho.” Junsu smiled at him, getting his black jeans on. He never thought Junho could be so amusing, the changes of expressions in his face looked somewhat priceless. Junsu would tease him just a bit more. It’s funny.
“I’m not.” He put his shirt on, making the same offended face. “And what’s up with Ho nickname?”
“I thought you wanted to get closer.” Junsu was winning this round, because Junho couldn’t look him in the eyes at that moment. He just turned away and crossed his arms, not wanting to show the embarrassment.
That’s enough. Junsu went past Junho and opened the door for him. “After you, Ho.” As Junho was passing by him, some invisible force made Junsu to stop the boy by extending his arm and blocking Junho’s way. “I’m just teasing you, silly. I’m not playing with you either.”
Junho was looking at him, a vivid expression of surprise. Then he smiled and looked down. “Thanks.”
“Let’s go.” Junsu ruffled Junho’s hair.
After listening to JYP’s speech about responsibility, approving of the acoustic version and performing it on the radio, Junsu got the news about the other day’s schedule. Two days of filming in the Family Outing wasn’t what he was craving to do, but it was his job. He was already tired from the schedule and the thought about two day long filming made him want to smack his head into the wall.
Junsu got used to Junho’s presence through those few weeks. Now it felt a bit strange to be all by himself, because Junho would usually tag along and talk about something ridiculous before their shows, photo shoots and interviews. It wasn’t really silent in the filming location, but it felt too silent without Junho’s ramblings.
He shook his head, because he wouldn’t admit Junho’s pet-like personality was something that made the day more interesting and fulfilling. Junsu didn’t want to think about it too much, as he was sure that boy was a mess, making his life unstable. Just like a pet, who’s invading owner’s life without asking anything, making him annoyed most of the times. But what Junsu was missing here, was the part about pets being affectionate, sweet and faithful.
Pets can change their owners.
Junsu woke up in his bed, it was still early, but a few days without his own bed didn’t change the fact he wasn’t able to sleep much. Except for the miracle that has happened a few days ago.
He got up, brushed his teeth and left for the office. It was his day off, but a message from Minjae told him they have to talk about something. The building was quite empty, just a few teenager trainees running around, looking at Junsu from distance.
The door to the room was opened and Junsu walked in, noticing Namyoung and Minjae, looking at nothing. “Hey, what’s up with the sour faces?”
“Junho is missing.” Minjae looked nervous.
“What do you mean he’s missing?” Junsu’s heart jumped a little.
“The day after your acoustic performance he went home and then no one was able to contact him.” Namyong sighed. “JYP is freaking out, because you guys have a performance tomorrow.”
“Did you try coming to his apartment?” Junsu was still trying to be rational.
“We did, but no one’s opening the door.” Minjae brushed the sweat off his forehead. “He must be at home, because the landlord saw him coming back from a convenience store yesterday.”
“Then break his door. Call the police. I don’t know… I…” He was about to suggest to go there himself, but for some reason he couldn’t do it.
“Look, Junsu, I know you made up with him. I think he really likes you, it’s quite obvious, actually…” Minjae tried to be diplomatic.
“So what are you suggesting? We’re not that close, you know…” Junsu could swear the topic was going wrong and he didn’t like it.
“No no, I’m not saying you’re that close, but the way you’re acting towards each other, it’s just…” Minjae was obviously having a hard time choosing the right words.
The conversation was going totally wrong. But why the hell Junsu should care about that. Well, it was true they made up, but was it really obvious that they’re on fairly good terms, as Junsu would like to describe that. That. What that is even that?
“Damn, Minjae, go back to the original topic.” Junsu shook his head exhaling, hands on his hips. Relationship wasn’t the most wanted topic in his list right now. He has been avoiding it for a very long time.
The manager cleared his throat. “If he would open the door for someone, it would definitely be you. JYP is pissed off, he might fire me. Please, Junsu?” He was pleading now.
Junsu exhaled loudly for the hundredth time. Maybe seeing Junho wouldn’t be such a bad idea. Minjae is in a bad situation. Right. “Fine, I’ll help you.”
Minjae’s eyes were glittering with joy. Maybe his life won’t go the wrong way, Junsu is here to help him.
That was the second time he was in front of that brown wooden door. Junsu cleared his throat as the memories of the I’ll-get-my-journal-back quest filled his brain. Junho sure annoyed the hell out of him at that time. Oh, the abilities this boy has…
He knocked on the door.
Nothing.
He knocked twice.
Nothing.
He was starting to feel the irritation awakening. Knock knock knock knock.
Nothing.
“Junho, I swear, if you don’t open that fuckin door, you can forget about getting closer with me and you’ll be able to get closer only with your hand.” Junsu was obviously taking out his ultimate card.
The door opened slightly, one eye peeking from the dark shyly. “Finally. Don’t make me stand outside like some sort of idiot, you ungrateful bastard.” Junsu pushed the door and let himself in. Just like the last time. It felt like deja-vu, because Junho was silent and his back was pressed to the wall. The only difference was that half of his face was hidden under the massive green scarf.
“It doesn’t feel like heating system is messed up here, why are you wearing that thing?” Junsu calmed down a bit. At least he didn’t need to stand outside and pour his rage on the poor door.
Junho lowered the scarf and waved his hand for Junsu to come closer. He took a few steps forward, standing in front of his silent colleague. “Alright. What’s wrong?” He leaned closer.
“This is wrong.” Junsu straightened his back in shock, because Junho’s voice was as rusty as the lock of prison cell in dungeons, which hasn’t seen oil in forever.
“Did you catch a cold?” Junho shrugged his shoulders. “Wait.” Junsu pressed his lips to Junho’s forehead to check on his temperature. He could feel Junho’s right hand tugging on his jacket. “It doesn’t look like you have a fever. What have you been doing these three days?”
Junho pulled him closer, lips near Junsu’s ear. “I was trying to heal myself. I thought I’d succeed, but it only got worse. I don’t know what to do.” He whispered.
“You’re really stupid, aren’t you?” Junsu wasn’t really scolding him, he chuckled against Junho’s temple. “You should’ve called me at least. Do you have any idea how JYP is pissed off? How Minjae is planning on a new career in another place after being fired?” He glanced at Junho’s face, which had a sad expression on.
“I’m sorry.” He looked down.
Junsu felt like someone squeezed his heart, making him feel weak for a moment. “Shh, don’t talk. I’m taking you to see the doctor. He’s a friend of mine, he helps me whenever I have troubles with my throat.”
Junsu touched Junho’s chin, lifting it so that he could see the tiny eyes, which didn’t have the usual happiness flickering inside them. There he lost it again. He was kissing Junho without realizing how he initiated it. Junsu could feel the younger boy’s hands wrapping around his waist, pressing closer to him and biting on his lower lip gently as Junsu sucked on his upper lip.
Junsu palmed Junho’s face, tilting it a bit for a better access, the tip of his tongue brushing against Junho’s lower lip, finally getting its way into the hot mouth, which gladly accepted him with a low moan.
“Junho…” He whispered into the passionate kiss, pressing Junho harder against the wall. Junsu wasn’t questioning why he gave in just like that, he just wanted to feel the boy pressed between him and the cold wall.
Maybe having a pet would be fairly acceptable.
Maybe Junho isn’t that annoying.
