Change Me [part 2]

Aug 01, 2010 20:31

It wasn‘t comfortable at all. Junho couldn‘t stop thinking about what happened a few days ago in a recording studio. The part they got to sing together was easier to sing then his own solo. He didn‘t want to admit the fact that Junsu was helping him a lot, though that smile on the corner of his lips was irritating Junho to no end. As it was expected their voices fit each other pretty well, their boss was satisfied with the result and once again he bragged about how Junsu can perfectly harmonize with anyone, which made Junho annoyed. Again.

And now Junho felt quite excited, because the next step was choreography. Everyone around him knew how much he loved to sing, but they also knew how obsessed with dancing he was. He was spying on Junsu’s performances again last night and was hoping to see his abilities in the dance studio, how fast he can catch up with Junho - the dancing machine. He knew there should be quite a fair amount of fan-service and the dancer wasn’t as amused as he knew his fans would be. The concept for their future MV and photo shoots wasn’t anything new - sexy, hot and seductive. That’s what sells the best, even a new comer knows that.

He didn’t know why, but for some reason JYPE’s strategy considering Junsu’s sexy image wasn’t the kind people were used to see. There wasn’t a single picture of him without clothes, the most fans could get was a tank-top and some ripped jeans. Junho was trying to figure out what kind of sexy concept he would have if they don’t want Junsu to get naked in front of thousands of hungry eyes. As far as he knew - JYP was using Junsu’s secrecy and mysteriousness as his main card in the game. Junho felt envious, he wanted to be considered as the gold mine of JYPE on the same level as his rival or even more. His ambitions was what made him to get into JYPE in the first place, he wanted to be the best. Junho couldn’t consider Junsu as a fellow JYPE family member, he just couldn’t do it after the recording. The more he thought about it, the more the thought about overthrowing Junsu was taking over his mind.

He opened the door and saw only the choreographer. “Hi, is he late?”

“Hi, Junho. Who?” Namyong looked puzzled for a bit.

“Junsu, of course.” He dropped his bag on the floor.

“He won’t be here with us. He’ll be learning the choreography separately and he’ll join us later, when both of you’ll be ready. ”

“What do you mean? The treatment he gets…” Is pissing me off, the idol, fuck it. Junho was trying not to yell anything unnecessary.

“Well, that’s how it is. You know he gets the best treatment here since he deserves it.” Namyong smiled. He knew Junho tends to get a bit jealous of people, who have a better status than him. A competitive person. “Alright, stop frowning, Ho. Time to shake your butt.” He earned a smack from Junho on his shoulder.

It was almost a midnight, when Junho was heading home finally. It was pretty far away from the office, so he was looking through the windows of taxi, creating some scenarios how he would like to see Junsu loosing against him in a TV show. He smirked to himself and reached for the keys in his pocket. Shit. “Driver, please turn around, bring me back to the JYPE.”

“Young man, it will cost you a lot.”

“I know, but I can’t enter my apartment without the keys.” He sighed.

Junho greeted the security guard, apologizing and cursing himself that he should think about Junsu less, because it makes him forget some important things like keys. He sneaked into the training room and found the forgotten keys, but then something caught his attention. The sounds of their freshly recorded song could be heard from the other training room, in the end of the hallway.

He glanced at the clock, it was almost 1AM and someone, well, he had a feeling who it might be, but he didn’t want to believe it since he was sure Junsu was a slacker and a pampered idol, who doesn’t work so late. As he came closer to the door and opened them slightly, so that he could see what’s inside, the song was paused and a heavy breathing was heard. There was Junsu, hands on his hips, head reclined back and eyes closed tightly as if fighting the lights of the room.

“Maybe that’s enough for today, don’t you think so? It’s already late.” Minjae was sitting on the floor, playing with his phone. “Namyong left two hours ago, he even gave you the video, so you could take it to your place.”

“I know.” Junsu sighed. “I just can’t remember it, it drives me crazy…”

Where has Junsu’s confidence gone? Junho couldn’t believe his own eyes, but the man in front of his eyes was looking desperate and helpless as he sat down the floor. “It’s funny, isn’t it, Minjae? Everyone’s thinking I’m so perfect, flawless and shit. I can’t do anything right, since he died…”

“Come on, Junsu, don’t let it get to you like that… Your voice is loved by thousands of people.” Minjae came closer to Junsu and squeezed his shoulder.

“And my dance memory is like a freakin Titanic. It looks so grand and impressive, but in reality it’s just a piece of junk.” He snorted, making himself look even more pathetic.

“Wait, wait. Namyong said your body is made for dancing, it’s just you can’t memorize it well.”

“Yeah… You know, sometimes I want to throw everything away. I’m so tired of pretending, if only people knew my scary dark secret, like our boss likes to describe it.” The sarcasm was overflowing as Junsu chuckled at the end of his sentence. “My inability to memorize choreography would look so insignificant to the secret JYP wants me to keep my mouth shut at any cost.”

“You’re not supposed to talk about it, Junsu.”

“The office is empty, who cares about my personal life.”

“Everyone does.” Minjae was trying to calm Junsu by rubbing his arm gently.

“Oh, Minjae Minjae… You better don’t touch me.” Junsu looked into his manager’s eyes. “I wish my life could be as simple as yours.”

“Just keep it to yourself, okay?” He stood up and offered his hand to Junsu, who seemed to have a heavy rock tied on his shoulders.

“This is the only thing I can do, right?”. Junsu lifted the bottom of his shirt to wipe the sweat off his face and Junho saw something black on his hip bone. Was that a tattoo?

“I’ll drive you home. And be careful, if anyone knows about your secret - it could threaten your whole career.” Minjae threw a towel at Junsu and the sweaty shirt covered his previously exposed abdomen.

Junho knew it was the time to get away from his stalking spot. His brain was trying to process everything he had experienced in those 5 minutes. He ran to the taxi without looking back, the image of a fragile idol was imprinted in his eyes, in his memory. He could feel his hands shaking slightly; he wasn’t supposed to see it, to hear it. Confident, cheerful, annoying - that man inside the training room didn’t look anything like that at all. Junho was inexpressibly confused, the image he had of Junsu was shattered. He didn’t know what to think of him at the moment. He looked too…human.

Flaws - he had them. Mixed feelings - he had them too. And finally - he had a secret, which could threaten his whole career.

Junho wanted to get a hold of it, he needed to know the secret. It would make him a superior person, at least that’s what he thought. His ambition to conquer Junsu was getting even stronger. Even if he needed to use the dirty ways to do it, even if the person in question would get hurt - Junho was pretty sure, he could use the secret against Junsu.

Hesitation.

Really? Could I do that?..
