So one of my best friends just got engaged. YAY! We're making the trek up to the city on Saturday and are looking for good places to try on bridemaid dresses as well as wedding gowns. We're all about size 14-18 so we're looking for places to cater for our fat arses

My sister got her dress and I got my bridesmaid dress at Raffaello Cuica. We went to the one in Sydney Rd but there are others. Was great, we both got dresses on sale, and there were lots of sizes. Was a bit over a year ago but couldn't have changed too much... one would think...

I tried on my dress at Rafaello Ciuca where it cost $1800 and ended up buying it online for $500 at www.bridalgown.net

It was the exact same brand new dress. I don't feel bad about it because the sales lady at the store was the biggest snob ever and made me feel like I shouldn't be in her store and that I was wasting her time and wouldn't let me try on more than 3 dresses. And I was a size 6 at the time so I don't think snobby people are snobby just about size!

Some of the stores need you to make an appointment before trying on dresses however.

Ick, that's horrible!! Weddings are supposed to be a special time, as if brides need the extra stress!
We got my sister's dress of the sales rack and the lady who served us was quite nice. A little snobby, but nice. Guess we just got a good day lol

My best friend got her wedding dress from The House of Bridal Elegance on Keilor Road, I think her dress was a size 18. I got my bridesmaid dress from there as well, and I was a size 16 at the time. They go up to size 26, but some of the people who work there are rude bitches!
