So, I've been devouring watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and I've gotten to the point where Angel spins off. How should I watching the show from here on? Should I alternate episodes? Watch a season of one, and then a season of the other ( Read more... )

Husband has been enjoying the comics. No idea how hard they might be to get ones hands on.

I found Angel to be a stupid show. Husband might argue for a few seasons of it.

Argh. I wish I could remember more details of what happened when in Buffy. I liked it into the college years. I really liked her college boyfriend and his subplot. I really, really disliked the Dawn developments, but I am not the only one. I stopped watching much later, but I don't really want to say when because I don't know how unspoiled you are for the later seasons. Wait! Maybe I can figure out which season it was! *time passes* I gave up in about the middle of Season 7. There are plausibility issues all along the way - like why would the Council of Watchers not provide for the room and board of the Slayer, for instance, since she can't really hold down a normal job - but there were still lots of fun times well into Season 6, anyway.

I'm pretty much completely unspoiled, which is remarkable, I know. I'm dragging out the last few episodes of season 3.

I know Angel isn't very good--I've caught an ep or two on TNT--but I have a stupid crush on Boreanaz-as-Angel, so I'm going to watch the show anyway.

I agree with the 'watch all of Buffy first' idea. I always thought that Buffy was brilliant - and Angel wasn't nearly as good.

I finally watched Angel this past March. It was fun - but not nearly as much fun as Buffy.

I will ask Katie when we have time, she has watched much of Buffy and Angel and tried to connect the two as you are doing. My friend Cindy is also a big Buffy buff (hah, such a big understatement), and I will also ask her opinion and get back to you in a few days. Maybe via text. We'll see.

*hugs!*

WATCH THEM BY ALTERNATING EPISODES. XD

This, to me, is the "right" way to watch them (but I did watch them live). Also, I actually really, really like Angel. (A better constructed show than Buffy after the first season, and the third season of Angel is hands-down my favorite season of Jossverse ever ( ... )

Dear Lord, I will have to write this down.

Or, conversely, just alternate episodes, which might be simpler for my poor brain to handle.

My plan has succeeded. MOO HA HA HA.

Also, there are preorders up for TBP #7 which collects #31-35, so nearly everything is already out in TBP.

Also I totally forgot about the other crossover in Season 4: "Pangs" (Buffy) and "I Will Remember You" (Angel). BAD BUFFYFAN!

This is the advice I gave my sister when I leant her my DVDs. Watch Buffy season 4 straight through until at least Who Are You?, that's where it really is an important crossover with Angel.

Or, watch one alternate Buffy and Angel eps. But the crossover eps are Harsh Light of Day/In the Dark, Pangs/I Will Remember You, Who Are You?/Five By Five for Seasons 4/1. Then they don't crossover again until the end of Season 5 of Buffy/Season 2 of Angel and then not again until season 7 Buffy/Season 4 Angel.
