I pulled my repaired bike and repaired self back out yesterday morning and ran the morning errands by bike with Hubbyfink. My bike and I performed very well, I am happy to report. I frequently walk the portion of the trail which runs between Van Buren St. and Rt. 7100, as it runs behind the office park in which I work. Well, to be honest, I usually go as far West as the side trail near the generators, but I walk as far East as the small park just past the Ffx Cty Parkway. Glad that you're back in the (bike) saddle again :-)

I noticed all the little side trails like the Ffx Co trail and the Sugarland Run trail. We're going to try exploring those next weekend.

Many of those side trails in that area lead to office parks (mine has two to the trail), streets, other trails, etc. The one near the generators leads to Grant St., and I use it as a short cut to the post office and the restaurants/grocery store on Elden St.

Some day I'll get past Reston and see what else the W&OD has in store.

This is where I sound like a total idiot. :)

My bike is a Schwinn Clear Creek. I guess it's sort of a hybrid since it's built like a cruiser but has 18 speeds. It is VERY heavy. I think that's part of why hills are so dang tough. Now that I'm biking more, and getting pretty good at it, I'm going to save my pennies for a better commuter bike.

I'm going to guess that the tires are cross country. They're the tires that came with the bike and they are fantastic on grass, dirt, and gravel as well as pavement.

yay for happy cute buff headbands!! I love yours :)
reminds me...I need to buy a couple more. the one I have gets pretty stinky and it would be nice to have a clean one for subsequent days without having to wash them every day.... :)
