Post Op day 10

The surgeon woke me on Friday, calling to see how I was doing. He was a little concerned that I was still asleep at 10:30am, but I assured him it was only because of my night owl tendencies when I don't have work the next morning. It would seem you should start noticing differences very soon. I think the bloating is probably from a lot of displaced air in the abdomen that takes awhile to go away. It sounds like you have a good support system, and I'm sure there are answers for questions like that.

It sounds like you're doing well - careful not to overdo, but I imagine you've heard that.

Congratulations on doing well.

Thanks, hon. It's hard not to overdo when I feel good because, in those moments, I feel really, really good. I haven't quite learned from the crashes just yet. :/

I had a funny thought this morning: this post-op thing is sort of like pregnancy. When you're pregnant (or so I've seen from the outside since I've never been in such a condition) and something weird happens, everyone says, "Oh, that's natural and happens to everybody." Same thing for these complaints and concerns I've had. ;)
