Training ride #3

Since I skipped the group ride from Leesburg to Purcellville on Saturday, I made Sunday a training ride day. Scott agreed to meet me in Leesburg and ride to Purcellville and back so I had the first and last legs to myself. I'm riding the half-century route (which is actually 55 miles) as well as riding to and from the start-/end-point in Reston Town Center for a total of 67ish miles.

*nod* I don't know that I'll actually get much over fifty in the next few weeks due to saving my legs for Bike DC next Sunday and being in New Orleans over Memorial Day weekend. I'm doing shorter rides during the week and that is helping build my strength.

I love how rural it gets along the trail... horse farms and cow farms and plant farms. The 18th and 19th century brickworks along the trail are neat to spot as well.

bikes@vienna and Mt Airy Bikes are the two really good 'bent dealers in the area... I completely understand the fixation he has for recumbent cycling, and was lucky enough to get back on my bike for the first time in a while recently... You are an inspiration with all the cycling posts, thank you!
