but here's how i know i'm wayyyy too tired.

i read a sentence fragment... in an email or on a website somewhere i forget... and it reads:

"Sang with a beautiful voice"

and i think to myself, for more than a minute that i don't understand the metaphor

It can happen within one language by itself; that's how The Bald Soprano got its name. Blood with a beautiful voice has to title something or go in a poem somewhere now.
