I think this describes our country a bit more than this. I'm getting really sick and tired of people seeing a "red" state and automatically assuming that I'm an extreme Christian who thinks the sun shines out of Dubya's ass. >< People who generalize like this are no better than Republicans heckling and harrassing Democrats by rubbing it in our ( Read more... )

You're right. I was watching the states fly by, and in most, the numbers were pretty much halved. I think if we just keep working hard, more of those "Bible Belt" states won't be red for long. I mean look! Texas voted in an openly gay woman sherriff! That has to say something!

Definitely not my sheriff, but I do know both him and my precinct's constable are both Democratic and probably two of the best officials we have right now.

I'd be happy even if, in the next election, the one lone blue speck in the middle of Texas spreads out a bit. ^~

What county voted for an openly gay woman sheriff, if you know? 'Cause I haven't heard.
