I loved the literal springs for hair--and the gradual humanization of John, I smiled when Rodney gave John wings---but when I found out they were Rodney's *own* wings, I was truly touched. Really enjoyed this. :-)

This is wondrous!!! I love it to pieces... but this:

the diner's resident waiter stopped at the table with a refill and a plate of French fries. Smiling, he set the plate in front of them and refilled their mugs. "Don't see two like you here very often. Here you go. Fries, on the house." He grinned at Rodney. "Nice wings."

I may have just squeed out loud at that - could see Parrish giving Rodney the once over. Like I said, wondrous. You have their feelings and longings exactly right and this was just what the doctor ordered for the end of this day. *smooches*

Thank you!!! This was one of those, big concept- concise word - stories and a bit strange to boot. (even for me) So please don't mind if I hug your comment and squeeze the stuffing out of it.

Strange does not equal inventive... this was a well-crafted, creative little yarn that is the epitome of "McSheplets" and "Still in Love." Wonderful!
