Yeah, me too, hence why I posted. I also know that there are alot of people looking... I have at least 3 on my LJ list and there were 21 other poor people released with me. Hopefully someone finds this helpful!

Oh boy.

The scary thing is that I can think of a half dozen people who would fall for this. Especially in this economy right now.

Craigslist aside, have you checked out dice.com?

Never heard of it... will head there now. Thanks!

Oh - and just got a reply asking me to take a personality quiz. Seriously. They don't ask for personal info beyond name and the ID they provide... wondering if it's legit or not. Heard of TheJobsCube.com?

I haven't heard about that one. Looks like a temp service like Ciber. I don't know whether it's any good or not, to be honest.

This one was clever... I went through the first page of basic questions, then it moves on to 'phase 2'. You're supposed to go to these web pages, follow the directions and select 'submit', then come back and answer questions about the pages. And what were all the pages? They were adverts... fill-out your name, address, phone number, etc to get signed up for different sites and free stuff. It's the most creative fraud I've experienced so far!! *headdesk*

One thing about HTTPS. That's a secure protocol. Doesn't mean the site is to be trusted from a respectability perspective; means that it's very unlikely that anyone will snoop your internet network traffic and read the contents.

Sorry... I know my definitions aren't perfect but I was trying to get the point across that it's at least safer than regular sites. *shrug* I do my best! Hopefully no one would reply to an email like this anyway! :)

I should have thanked you for the PSA.

Thanks you for alerting us about this. We can't do ENOUGH to prevent phishing.

It's no problem. I tried to update a little... I have stuff on S, but that was the most simplistic. I think I'll look it up and post it tomorrow. :) I'm home... I might as well do something for the good of mankind. ;) Any input you have would be treasured. I know you and a few other of my friends are a bit more educated in the ways of IT...
