A giant FAIL from Fox News.....

With reporting and 'experts' like this, no wonder the tour guide on my trip round Savannah in 2008 had to have me shout from the back of the bus at him when he announced that there were entire cities in the UK that were Muslim and ( Read more... )

Wow!

I'm speechless.

And revolted.

Good lord...

Agreed, but most people in the UK wouldn't know the poor rep Fox News has - we just don't have a "news" channel that sloppy! The very idea that a news programme here would make such a startlingly ill informed statement would be unheard of. Sadly, for all well educated Americans out there, it paints a very poor picture!

There are so many people in this country who believe what they hear/see/read - and consider their 'source' to be the be all and end all.
It is a shame that most don't question the validity of anything.

On the plus side it led to the wonderful #foxnewsfacts on Twitter which is just a joy. Rebuttal with withering humour, the British way ;)

But the ignorance of some (middle-class, college-educated) Americans in this day and age absolutely amazes me - I remember being shocked when I went there on an exchange when I was still in school and being baffled by the questions I was getting; but apart from the utter bullshit this guy is peddling; it's the shocked look on the anchor's face that gets me. I MEAN, SERIOUSLY PEOPLE - HAVE YOU HEARD OF THE INTERNET?

Oh, wait, Fox. Yes. right - propaganda is the name of the game.

I despair. Back to Twitter for some laughs, eh?

I had to explain what was happening to my colleagues when I giggled out loud at "Graham Love‏@GLove39·15 hil y a 15 heures
Due to sharia law the 'ham' from Birmingham was dropped years ago and the city is now known simply as Birming"

::snort::

Honestly...

Twitter was fab - I went to bed far too late, having spent my time laughing at all the responses. Something to laugh about after such a depressing week.

Without preaching along with the choir, I thought of you when I saw this:

http://thinkprogress.org/world/2015/01/12/3610608/fox-terrorism-expert-calls-britains-second-largest-city-totally-muslim-uk-prime-minister-calls-him-a-complete-idiot/?utm_source=email&utm_medium=tptop3&utm_campaign=tptop3

(And let's not get started on what some sheeple let themselves believe based upon oh-so-reliable sources. Having something broadcast and repeated = undeniable truth. Not!!!) What's a brain, scarecrows? Having the audacity to invent/misrepresent/perpetuate does=shameful.
