Disturbing.
Perhaps Radio might fare better in the US in terms of getting its priorities right. On TV though you've gotta turn to international broadcasters to avoid that warped map.

And amongst english language international TV broadcasters I think Al Jazeera english is a credible competitor to the BBC. Check it out!

true. i don't know about the rest of the world but for sure in the US at least the local channels are as crappy!
I feel these guys are just mimicking those western channels.

This has happened due to advent of a zillion 24*7 news channels, and the fact that they are running out of stories to cover!

I thought the local news channels in the US were weird. Covering stories of pet rescue, or, asking the viewers to email stories they would like
covered by the news channel!
