Being Neighborly

I have always wanted a situation where I resided with neighbors who were friends, but for one reason or another it has never happened. Maybe everyone is just too busy, wrapped up in their own worlds (I’ve been guilty of that as much as anyone). Maybe I just don’t have anything in common with the average citizen. Maybe most people are unfriendly

10:30 PM is too late to be outside except on the 4th of July, or something. My kids want to camp in the backyard but I hesitate because I don't want them to start shrieking at 2AM.

I told someone in my HOA that it would be fine with me if they send a nastygram to my landlord about the dead tree and the stump, because my repeated requests to the PM to take care of it haven't yielded any fruit, and I have no way of contacting the landlord directly myself.

They were out making noise again last night, too. Grr.

The last several years I keep running into kids that seem to have no fixed bedtime. I can remember being in elementary school and begging my parents to be able to stay up until 9:00 pm!

Fortunately, school will be starting soon and that will probably solve the problem.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is one of the few recent films I want to see.

Sorry, I owe you a much longer response than that. I've been looking forward to the film because I find the social context fascinating, and I think Tarantino would do a good job with the topic. Unfortunately with two small kids and a wife who can't sit through a film I don't make it to the theaters, although they have finally brought the Alamo Draft House to Downtown Los Angeles.

I usually don't "do" movie reviews (except for close friends, and then I do subject them to exhaustive takes!), because everyone else does them and why should my opinion be given any more value
