I was trying SO HARD not to get my hopes up for Kaner at the game on Friday (bc I knew Toews was playing), but then there was something misleading on the internet that he *would* be and my heart broke a little when they announced the lineup. (Did you hear that guy say "Toes", though? HILARIOUS).

We were second tier, so not close to the glass (although we pressed our noses right up against it during warmups and a bunch of times were like FOUR FEET from Jonny) but IDK, it's a well designed arena and I was happy with the seats.

But: KAAAAAAAAAANER...

AHH I know T__T It would have been amazing to see him on ice! It was nice to see Tazer (lol Toes, yeah, that always makes me laugh) skating though. We joked that it was the Rockford Ice Hogs feat. Tazer.

Hockey arenas all tend to be pretty good in that no matter where you sit you get a pretty awesome view of the ice. I've actually really enjoyed sitting in nosebleed seats for the Flyers, though oh my god, right by the ice was crazy. You don't get as good a view of the whole game, but they are so close.

You're going to a Hawks home game during the regular season, right? So you'll see Kaner on ice then! :D

I can only relate to number 2, but I've discovered a Pacific Rim MakoHaru AU gem in the kinkmeme, which is beautifully written, angsty, has Haru POV, and just plain heartbreaking, here

Tazer and Kaner are wonderful though and I have the biggest IRL soft spot for Kaner and his hockey skills. *__* West Coast teams I have no strong feelings for except LA (I hate LA because I am a bitter Flyers fan and they are Flyers West lol). Their games start too late for me! I am and old lady who needs to sleep early.

(Free! was so fun and excellent and I was really excited it got me to write again! But then, alas, all my will to write drained away as quickly as it game. I hope it'll come back! RL just got so busy, which might have something to do with it.)
