Thinking of Ter tonight

For those who didn't know, ter369 died yesterday afternoon after a brave battle with uterine cancer. I count the day we met for a three-hour coffee as one of the most fun, most interesting, most memorable ever. She loved music, travel, theatre, reading, cheering on NaNoWriMo authors, fashion, book-publishing news, and bitching. And OPERA, OMG. Biggest ( Read more... )

So many varied and scattered ppl on my flist were friends of hers.

I think she'd appreciate how everyone's remembering her.

Isn't it remarkable how some people are like the sun, with planets moving around them because they need that brightness?

I KNOW.

I'm not kidding - her friends have been from widely scattered areas - very.

In a way, it's reassuring, ya know? When we're gone, maybe people will remember us like that, too?

You know what I did today? mustangsally78 August 5 2008, 06:01:03 UTC
I just dropped money on Mozart/LaPonte DVDs. Ter didn't like the Sellars Marriage of Figaro, but I do!

I got her hysterical telling her about how when you try to call the Fig by singing the big "FIG-A-RO!", he runs away!

And the fact that growing up I had a cat named Mushugena.

Those are great pictures. I am so jealous!

We're all missing her right now. But these are good ways to remember her.

I suddenly have a serious desire to go back to Prague. I never got to see the statues on the Charles Bridge like you did, since we were all shuffled off like cattle, all the while being harped at about pickpockets and the like. Frakking group tours. Never doing one again.

Of all the pictures you chose I think the one that struck me the most is the memorial for the whole family whose dates all end in 1942. It's so utterly heartbreaking.

This whole thing is such a fabulous memorial for someone who meant so much to you. I'm glad you shared it with us.

*hugs*

Wonderful photos, J. Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed all those details from the bridge.

So sorry to hear about your friend. I did not know her, but I remember seeing her comments here and there on LJ. *hugs*
