Well, I didn't say that some books aren't worth reading, just that there's nothing wrong with not having read a book that happens to be especially popular. No one can read everything.

I mean to prove you wrong on the last sentence there...but I know I'll fail. I might have a chance if I stuck to English...but I think we're fast approaching the point where books are published faster than someone could read them.
Popularity actually seems to be a bad sign of quality to me. The last books I read because they were popular seemed rather mediocre to me.

Yeah... even sticking with English, I don't think so. I'm pretty sure that the number of new books released in English every year is in the tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands. I also think your last couple of sentences are proving my original point.
