 So after being a redhead (well, more like light reddish-brown head) for 2 years, I decided to go dark.  After....5-6yrs of having some form of red (light or dark) in my hair, I decided to just do it brown with some light brown pieces inside

dont worry no matter how professional your hair will always fade if it was a lighter colour before you dyed it. to speed up the process you can use cheap drugstore brand shampoo (i think when i did this i used pert plus or something, something that is strong that strips the hair) and Vo5 hot oil... wash your hair like 3x a day and use the hot oil once a day.

really you should have started doing this as soon as you got in from the salon but i think it should still have a bit of an effect

Oh yeah I heard about the hot oil working! I'm thinking of getting some of that anyways because my hair is super dry now after coloring it.

Did you get it done with my Mom? I'm sure she can put in some more highlighs if you think it's too dark.

Yeah I did-don't say anything to her though, I'm trying to get used to it-and she did say that it'll lighten (especially the highlights she put in).
