[ opinion ] All time favorite BL Pairing

Jul 15, 2011 00:38

Much like many of you, I have a large selection of "favorites" within my list of "best yaoi pairings." However, my task at hand is to select my single most all time favorite pairing. And, although that tends to change (depending on my mood), I think the one pair I can say, without a doubt in my mind and with my entire being in full agreement, is ( Read more... )

This is good. Very good indeed that I will now order the books! D: This is the second time someone has chosen this pairing... and I can see clearly why! :D A wonderful summary, a wonderful reviews, not to mention perfectly voiced reasons to like! :D Thank you so much for taking your time to write this... :D

xD I actually had a hard time keeping it this short. I tend to ramble, LOTS, when I post opinions/discussions/reviews, so I don't like to do them very often. But, thank you! It makes me happy whenever I can get others interested in this very awesome series.

xD Yours was totally awesome! You did Tohru and Keishi very much justice so it's good. ♥

And YES!! That Love & Hate picture was just...I nearly squealed my head off when I first saw it in my read through of Cold Fever. Loved it then...still love it lots now.

I think I like it so much because it's so them. Frail and fragile Keisha and protective Tohru. Love & Hate should be their slogan. Considering all they went through together :)

Most definitely. xD I think the extra story at the end of Cold Fever had the perfect slogan for Tohru/Keishi...and to think it's just cologne (if I recall correctly).

I wish there was a colored copy of that picture. u__u;;

Lol I also didn't care too much for Keishi in the beginning because he initially seemed like flat and weak character, but I suppose that you grow to like him at the rate that Tohru does -when his actions seem less mystifying. Although I ultimately liked the ending in the last book, I really have to feel sorry for Keishi for the amount of emotional stress he experienced. I'm not sure I could of silently done my best and continue to love someone like that in the face of all that abuse, especially during the period that he gets abused whilst Tohru was having sex with him (which was really sort of rape sometimes). Although I understood his angst, I guess I spent the whole period being a bit sad and angry at him because of his nature, since I probably wouldn't want to associate with someone with such an unreasonably short fuse in real life. Still, its ironic that for all his hate he becomes emotionally dependant on Keishi in the end, and how inferior he felt (and perhaps to an extent still feels) to his milder mannered counterpart because ( ... )

Oh yes. I totally agree. And quite honestly, if I were in Keishi's shoes in book three, I probably would've called the cops, got a restraining order and/or get the crazy jerk into imprisoned somehow. I really don't think I would have been able to go through what Keishi did. It's insane.

However (as crazy as I sound), it was probably the best way to show Tohru's development. I mean, it's the most dramatic way to show it and I thought it was well done. I've seen several people in my lifetime change dramatically like that too (my dad being one of them), so I totally understand it.

I think Tohru still suffers from feeling inferior. I mean, I don't think one could truly get over it. When something goes wrong, even the littlest of things, I could totally see him thinking about what the other him would have done to prevent it and whatnot. I rather like both versions of Tohru a lot though (as did Keishi, I'm sure).
