I went looking for a course packet of readings from a class I had in the spring, but all I could find are some of my notes. I am almost positive I kept that booklet, but it's temporarily lost at the moment ( Read more... )

i think ima have a look for his book.
sounds stupid but i've been thnking along the same lines. maybe because the native american aerican cultures also value community highly, moreso than the more individualized western society. i like that proverb.

For the same class we had to read a book by Angeles Arrien called, The Four-Fold Way: Walking the Paths of the Warrior, Teaher, Healer and Visionary. Using Native tradition and culture, the book explores the four archetypes (in the subtitle). I found it to be very insightful, and another beautiful expression of relating to one another and to oneself.
