Writing

I actually did some writing today. I had allowed myself a couple of days to recover from the tummy upset I had at the end of last week, and also to try and put out the fire in my joints which was brought on by stress. I must remember that stress causes the ESR's to rise and that means I ache!

Since Saturday, I have had very sore ribs--this is a ( Read more... )

I guess Ekka is the same as our Royal Adelaide Show. I haven't been for years due to not liking big crowds and everything being outrageously overpriced. It's funny how everyone crams into the showbag hall like they can't actually buy chocolate from the supermarket - lol - but when I have been to the Royal Show the Cadbury chocolate showbag is the one I can't resist!

Damn! Your title has been pinched! Be sure to keep your next one secret!

That sounds like a couple of very painful conditions! Rest up as well as you can. *hugs*

It's Ekka time already? Where did the year go? I bet they have record crowds! I hope you get your show bag wishes :)

Glad to hear you're on the mend, but sorry you still ache so much. I'm totally impressed that you know all the medical terms for those aches and pains!

Nuts on the title duplication. I'm no good at titles and tend to go for simple/common words so I've had that problem come up too.

I LOVE fairs/festivals! Enjoy your show bags! Hope you get the chocolate one at least. :)

hehe I used to work as a nursing assistant and picked up a lot of medical terminology from that, but also, with chronic illness you just about swallow a medical dictionary as a part of the deal. :)

Yeah, titles are difficult for me, too. Oh well, the new title, so far, doesn't seem to be taken and I am keeping it a secret LOL!

Show bags, or, more correctly, sample bags are bags of assorted goodies from various manufacturers sold at these fairs. They generally contain just a load of crap, in amongst the (few) good things. They also can have vouchers in them for discounts at some store or another.

Once upon a time, (and I can actually remember when this was so) they were given away free, but nowadays you can pay anything up to $20 for one.

As Zathyn commented it is quite laughable that we will all pack ourselves (or send agents on our behalf) into show bag pavillions to buy bags containing samples of products we can buy any day of the week in the supermarket.

Still, we do it, and the companies cash in on it, and everyone is happy.

It's a wonderful world we live in.
