Sharing his water with the koala - that photo ad touched me deeply. I hope that koala was not burnt and alright - although there may not be any gum leaves for it to eat :(

The photo is cute, but don't koalas have really long, sharp claws? Yikes.

Yes, they do. Under normal circumstances you would not want to get that close to one not raised in captivity. They can be quite aggressive when defending themselves, but that little guy was obviously in need of help and the normal boundaries were lowered.

What a beautiful photo. I've just been watching the news and had to walk away and turn the TV off...it's too emottional to watch. The devastation is horrific and it's beyond me how anyone can deliberately light these fires and destroy so many lives - both human and animals. When they catch the bastards who did this I hope they rot in jail for a very, very long time.
