After a week that ended on a crappy note, I was very thankful that Robert and I were able to attend a performance by the U.S. Navy Band's jazz ensemble, The Commodores, last night at Lake Accotink. Holy smokes, the Commodores. I saw/heard them play at countless retirement ceremonies, changes of command, decommissionings, and heck knows what else over the years. Unfortunately I was a little young at the time to actually appeciate their music. I should see them again sometime now that I've developed a slightly more sophisticated taste in tunes.

Hope your crappy note wasn't too terrible.

I had a feeling you probably knew of them, but I had no idea they had such a history! I definitely wouldn't mind seeing them again if they were in a similar venue.

Thanks, dude. The crappy note was more eye-rolling if I had had a stronger skin about the whole thing. Another "people have an amazing capacity to be jerks" moment.
