What actually is the problem with Ric?

Because I can't get enough of him suffereing, I'm going to have him born with a slight heart defect that eventually gets worse with what The Right subjected him too, age and the effect of his powers on an already weak heart.

I am of course going on the assumption that the energy his conection to the earth gives him messes with the functions of his heart.
