I used to work for Avon Fashions back in the 80's. Started out in Customer Service--*shudder*--then fetched up in Accounting. I know! If ever there was a mismatch. Finally made my way to Order Entry for a good long while. Then made the mistake of going back to Customer Service--what was I thinking? Finally escaped to the Computer Room, where I was (mostly) happy until someone dangled an outside publishing position at me. There's another nightmare scenario, but it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Your checkered past sounds like mine (though I've not managed to get out of the Customer Service rut, hehe.) Of course, anything less than 1000 students a week will feel like a win, so I won't be complaining too much.
