I am currently trying to get a fresh backup made before it goes to the computer hospital. :/

And dammit, it was mid-sentence during my writing, so I lost at least 1000 words. BUT I took an iPhone picture if the screen right before it blue screened, so at least I can re type some if it from the picture.

Possibly if you can boot into safe mode, with networking, you might be able to copy the file to another machine if you have a home network- otherwise maybe you can upload to skydrive/onedrive, google docs, etc- somewhere cloud based.

Or if you have a usb drive you might be able to copy it there, can't remember if usb works in safe mode though. I'm guessing from "blue screen" you are running some form of windows. :)
