My latest bill from my ER debacle (I think this makes four or five separate bills now) puts me at over $2k (after deductible and insurance coverage). I don't even understand how anyone in the world can think our medical system isn't broken. I have been sick to my stomach since I opened the envelope

this is just... not right. I think at that price i'd go back to shamam / voodoo healing ceremonies, at least they're fun and they only cost you 3 chickens. And the results are sometimes better.

At least voodoo/shaman person can tell you how much it costs *before* treatment. When we go to the doctor here, they can't tell us how much it will cost. We have to wait until we receive a bill.

And I still have headaches.

The insurence system looks like this to me :
You : you're betting with them you're gonna get ill sometime, and if you win they have to pay you.
Them : they're betting they won't pay, perriod.

Actually, you always have to pay. You just hope your insurance company will pay some percentage. Unfortunately, that percentage is always far away from what you want.

yeah, it's really insane that you essentially get penalized to get medical help. women actually get higher rates because they're more likely... to seek preventative care. yeah that makes no sense in the end but it's a pretty clear example of what healthcare companies actually care about: money-now!!

I so want this shit to all be sorted out by the time I'm out of school... :/ yeah right
