A couple of minutes ago, I have finally received the magic email I have been stressing about for the past 5 years or so:

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.

On February 10, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this

Another friend of mine recently got the same notification after years of waiting, so I know how exhilarating this was for you.

I did want to thank you and 'Jennhi' for the invite to your celebration and I'm very sorry that I didn't make it... again... my life's been very out of whack due to serious chaos at work and my having moved to the 818.
