I hope I don't come off as snobbish, but might I suggest using Mozilla instead? The interface will immediately be familiar to you, it's far more secure, standardized and extensible than MSIE could ever hope to be and it's constantly being updated. I'm a big fan of Microsoft in general, but the fact of the matter is Internet Explorer is a steaming pile of shit whose only purpose seems to be to add extra vulnerabilities to Windows.

That does seem to be the case, doesn't it? I have come across various sites that recommend browsers that do not allow access to the core of windows.

It's like taking your pants down to watch TV, using this thing.

With this it doesn't matter what you open or run. I take every precaution. It happened anyway because this is the act of scum.

Use ZoneAlarm's free version, use Ad-Aware's free version, and use Computer Associates' EZ Antivirus, which isn't free but is reasonable, as most AV programs are not. It can be set to update itself every morning at 1 am and run a scan every morning at 2 am. I've got my computer, blueangel_073's computer, and Sammie's computer on this network, and we don't have any trouble with any of the common problems. Of course, we don't open attachments and use common sense about other things, too. I tried Mozilla, I've tried Opera, and I've tried Netscape. I like IE better than any of those regardless of its many faults. I use it with MyIE2 and the Google bar and have no problems at all. Have fun!

Yeah. I am getting really good at ferreting out this nonsense. And they have a tendency to reinstall themselves or come back after a while and do damage if you don't get every piece.
