I really wish programs wouldn't vie for attention when they boot up. When you start a program it should boot up quietly in the background until you choose to acknowledge it and not try to jump in front of whatever else you might be doing. That would be true multi-tasking, in my opinion ( Read more... )

And there's nothing wrong with being introspective...'cept maybe going blind and growing hair in places you're not supposed to have it.

At least you dont get the BSOD when you turn on your computer!! Just be thankful for that.

And people WILL screw you over sometime in life no matter what.

If its any consolation, I dont think your a loser. The people we had to work with were the losers, although they were igonrant losers. Just be happy that your smarter than most people.

I honestly don't blame the people involved in a lot of these cases. In a few of them they were ruled by their instincts and their compulsions. But then some people cannot rise above animal nature and say enough is enough and do something about it.

I don't really believe in human nature. But I do believe that some people are too set in their ways to change and they will go on continually and blindly doing what they have always done.

It is a rare person who actually brings his head up out of whatever rut he is in and says, "Wait. I am behaving as nothing more than the product of my environment. I am a thinking human being! I will change and become more than the sum of my parts."

But I digress. I do appreciate your sentiment, however.

"Every decision I have made ... has turned out pretty badly."

"I do believe that some people are too set in their ways to change and they will go on continually and blindly doing what they have always done."

You should have a talk with yourself sometime. Perhaps there are things you're trying to tell yourself, but you aren't really hearing... Seriously.

See the movie. And yes, it does have to do with the Butterfly Effect in Chaos Theory. ;)

I miss you being here -- I would have dragged you to the movies to see it! ;)

A born loser? I think NOT. Nothing else to show for it but your daughters and your remaining friends? Methinks you are minimizing yourself to a great degree -- in fact, meknows it ( ... )
