I'm sure most of you are pretty sick of these posts, aren't you?
I was re-watching "Father's Day" the other day, capping it to make icons and I realized that I really did watch the show for the Doctor. When you watch an episode like that where it's prominently about someone else, Rose, and you can't help but focus completely on someone else, the

I understand people not liking Doctor/Companion relationships (romantically), sometimes I feel like it shouldn't be that way, but I don't have all that history with the Doctor, so that could just be interfering with my views.
I'm a bit of a purist -- the Doctor's not supposed to shag his companions... that's Captain Jack's job. =)
If nothing, I could definitely get behind that!
Thanks again.

All my friends seem to prefer Ten but Nine will always be my preferred and adored Doctor.
One part I love that you didn't mention (and it's so tiny) is in The Unquiet Dead when the Doctor rescues Rose from Zombie people and he keeps his arm around her waist - I just find that so sweet.

And I know that moment from "The Unquiet Dead", I actually pointed it out in one of my screen cap reviews, so I didn't point it out here, but yeah, I found it very sweet as well, just something something they don't even seem to notice.
Nine is also my preferred Doctor.

I credit Christopher Eccleston's portrayal of the Docotor with getting me into this wonderful show in the first place. He had me hooked by that speech in "Rose" you mention, and it only got better from there. I'm sorry he wasn't around very long.
I'm catching up with old Doctors now, and I love them too, but I think that if Nine hadn't been so wonderful, and if that whole season didn't do such a good job of teaching newbies like me about the Doctor and the whole story, I wouldn't have been interested in seeking out more once I was done watching his season. Nine was intense when he needed to be, goofy when he needed to be, intelligent, snarky, loving. Really exactly how the Doctor should be, and I'm glad he was my first. :-)

I also was introduced to Doctor Who and CE through the SciFi channel, and I thank them for that. I think the Ninth Doctor will always be first in my heart, because like many have said the first Doctor will always stick with you, Nine is definitely my Doctor.
I have nothing against 10/Rose, I can like them quite a bit, but 9/Rose will always be my preference for reasons beyond my own comprehension. :)
So nice to find those that share interests!
