BSG Finale Review

OK, there is NO character bashing within from me!  I swear, I don't want to bash any characters, so I didn't here.  Please read and enjoy!

I really liked this episode.  I thought everything was well done and the writers and producers and everyone definitely set up the next season!

First, Baltar.  Slimiest character that ever slimed.  James Callis is ( Read more... )

First, Baltar.
James Callis is pure gold. I can't quite conceive of how he manages to make Baltar so descipable and so sympathetic at the same time. He was by far the MVP of this episode.

Kara/Lee/AndersMuch like Baltar, I hate how Kara behaves sometimes, but I can't hate the character. Katee is just too damn good. Honestly though, I felt as sorry for Anders as I did for Lee. Did Kara want a husband or a lapdog? I don't think he'll die, but if he stays around I hope he grows more of a backbone or I won't be able to respect him ( ... )

Thank you for this comment. You always have something insightful to say and I greatly enjoy that.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that would have liked to see more of the Lee/Dee relationship, if only to have a better understanding of it.

Personally I don't want to see anymore of Kara and Anders married, but that has nothing to do with Lee.

As for the fanfic idea, I already posted it if you want to check it out. I think I made it very simple as to the progression of the relationship as I saw at the end of the finale, but I think you are correct.

There is every reason to simply conclude that Lee and Dee are happy together, but they both want Kara to just leave them alone.

I think you are right, but that also makes me sad that Kara and Lee lost that friendship within the year (I don't like to think about who may have been the cause, I think it was probably something mutual, we'll probably find out in flashbacks).

Thank you again!

It's a total random hunch of mine, but since Colonel Tigh knew exactly what the flashpoint was that caused their falling out, the event was very likely a public one, and probably one where Kara was drinking again (since that seems to be when she really acts up the worst).

My Conclusion: Kara's wedding.
There's a scene in "When Harry Met Sally" where the bride and groom make a public toast that's really rather an insult to their friends... and I can just see a tipsy Kara doing something similar where she makes some comment along the lines of what she said in LDYB, insulting Lee's relationship with Dee... only Lee doesn't walk away quietly this time. Kaboom.

I'm sure I'll be proven wrong, but there's just something incredibly appealing (and twisted) about the idea of seeing Kara in a wedding dress and taking a swing at Lee.

I am actually thinking that something happened before the wedding, and Lee didn't come to her wedding and maybe Kara confronted him about it. I really don't know. I think there are a lot of ideas floating around that it has to do with Kara leaving the military and Lee taking it personally, but it seemed more personal then that. The writers better have a good idea and execute it well if they really want us to buy the rift.

Personally, I don't think they should have a flashback about Lee and Kara's estrangement. I think it's more interesting to leave something to the viewers' imagination. I dunno, I just hope I'm satisfied with what they do show.

Although, there really is something appealing (and twisted) about the idea of seeing Kara in a wedding dress and taking a swing at Lee.
