The most amazing place I've ever been...
Yesterday was really cool and I'm excited to update about it. During the day, we didn't do much... we went to the post office to send out some postcards that I've been meaning to send out since we left Namibia. A quick update
Once again I find myself at the internet cafe without much time to spare, so this will be short. In about a half hour, we are meeting up with the whole group to get drinks with Pierre and Antoinette as a thank you for taking us to Namibia. They're leaving for another trip soon so tonight will be the last time we see them ( Read more... ) -
Camping, sand dunes, and a major adrenaline rush...

A bit of a rough day
I think I've hit a bit of a rough patch in the trip today. Last night our tour guide's son Wynand was back in South Africa after being away in London for 2 years, so he went out with some friends and invited our group to come along. Table Mountain and Green Market Square
Not much time to update right now since the internet cafe closes in about 10 minutes, but today is absolutely worthy of an entry. Today we went to Cape Town, where we went to Green Market Square which is full of handmade crafts and paintings. The Ark, the market, and some group hijinks
Today we went back to The Ark again. It was a half-day, so we were only there until 12:30, but it was the most tiring and rewarding day so far there. The students all call me "teacher" now, and greet me when I walk in the room each morning. Today, the teacher asked me right away if I would be willing to do a lesson with them. Wine, hot springs, and new arrivals...
Yesterday was pretty amazing. We left Stellenbosch for the day to go wine tasting and to the hot springs. It was about a two hour drive out of town, and on the way we stopped at a small winery called Springfield Estates, where we tasted about 7 or 8 different wines. I was brave and tried them all even though I knew I wouldn't like most of them. ( Read more... ) -
Tour of the Ark Refuge/School
Today we got to go see the school we will be working at, called The Ark. It is a refugee housing and education complex. Many of the children at the school are orphans, so they live at the school in tiny bungalows with bunk beds. They are beautiful children, very excited to see us.
