This is Elizabeth Peters’s first Vicky Bliss book in I think 14 years. Since I only discovered Peters in 2001/2002 (I forget exactly which) and binged on every book she had written under that name within six months, I haven’t been waiting quite as long as other fans of the series.

I have to say, I loved Vicky Bliss and Jacqueline Kirby but I could not get into Amelia Peabody. I was so sad that she gave up the two and pursued a series with the one character of hers I didn't like.

I just noticed you said this is a Vicky Bliss book and not a Peabody. I saw Amelia's name so I kind of skimmed through and only when I looked closer did I discover the truth.

WHAT!

But... it's been over 10 years since I've read them :(

Woah! Really? I need to start reading this series then. I love the Peabody books ever since my grandma introduced me to them and I binged through about 10 or so in less than a week. I'm still in the process of getting all of them.

I can't remember how I started them, just that I binged on the entirety of her w/a Elizabeth Peters backlog in a concerningly short period of time a while back.
