TWO IMPORTANT QUESTIONS!

1. Is Clamp capable of writing any sort of student/teacher relationship without indications of (though they seem to prefer explicit) romantic feelings?

2. So, does anyone know if Clamp had always planned to go the Sakura/Syaoran route? Because if I didn't know how it ends up on that front and Tsubasa hadn't already ( Read more... )

I think there was a stuffed Kero doll in the back of Yuko's shop? I can't remember now.

At the very least, Watanuki finds her staff in one of the fist volumes of xxxHolic.

Your theory that Tomoyo was raised from birth to be in love with Sakura is probably not far from the truth.

HAHAH YOU THINK THE AGE KINK IS MUCH HERE? Wait till you try something like Tokyo Babylon, X or RG Veda. CLAMP likes the fucked up.

As for teacher/student - they don't really have any other canons with student/teacher relationships fleshed out. Yoko and Watanuki have mentor/mentored bond, and that's very platonic.

Well, Tokyo Babylon is supposed to be wrong, which is a little different. RG Veda I've only read 2 volume of. In the X/1999, the Yuzuhira/Kusanagi thing actually seemed healthier than most of the other ships. Uhm...anything other than Sorata/Arashi, really.

Yuuko and Watanuki has never struck me as anything but platonic. Yuuko is clearly that insane aunt who everyone else thinks is super awesome, but who drives you nuts.

Personally? I think all the canon CCS ships are healthy.

Well that's what I mean, Yuuko (wtf self how did I spell her name like that) and Watanuki are sort of mentor/mentored. Otherwise CLAMP doesn't really do the school-type setting very often.

I'm pretty sure they were planning for it to be Sakura/Tomoyo (which is what I secretly ship ;)) but the fan response to Syaoran and Sakura/Syaoran was so great that they changed it up. :)

Actually that's not the case. Tomoyo/Sakura was never going to be endgame - CLAMP has talked about that some.

Really? Ok, well, I guess whoever told me that (many many years ago) was wrong. :P I still like both ships, so it's ok either way. :)
