And it's Loretta Chase, so aside fromt he editorially required adjectives and...uhm...physical reactions, the whole thing is just like that(well, the first 60 pages...)

Well, I need something to cheer me up. The book I'm currently reading is more or less driving me towards a break up with its series.

The only awesome-romantic exchange I can recall off the top of my head is from an otherwise mediocre novel. The hero's a werewolf, the heroine is a were-fox, and her grandmother has just been kidnapped by the book's villain:

"If they hurt my Nana, I'll kill them!"
"I'll hold your coat."

Yes, that type of exchange is awesome, though more rare in romances...I find them more in fantasy.

See, that's a proper Alpha Male -- one who falls head-over-heels for the Alpha Female type. One of the reasons that I like werewolf romances; in theory, they should be like that.

Confession time: I did not like Lord of Scoundrels. My favourite book by Loretta Chase is Mr Impossible.
