The only awesome-romantic exchange I can recall off the top of my head is from an otherwise mediocre novel. The hero's a werewolf, the heroine is a were-fox, and her grandmother has just been kidnapped by the book's villain:
"If they hurt my Nana, I'll kill them!"
"I'll hold your coat."
