The Further Adventures of Mighty Wang and Busty Boy-Girl

Jan 23, 2008 21:29

I have been fed.  I have chocolate.  I have checked the f-list and noted the shameless linking.

I will now "read" the second half.

Post to be updated until I finish.

ETA 1:

Now that she has found the scalps, Busty BG has decided that she's being forced to bend to Mighty Wang's every whim and objects to him expecting her to wear the clothes she was drooling over before.  Funny what a trunk full of scalps will do to a person.  She tries to forget how hot he is by thinking about how hot he is, then engages in more ogling when he comes in.  Seeing her in boy's clothes makes Mighty Wang forget that he knows how to use first person again.

I feel compelled to point out that about one of of three sentences ends with a question mark.  Observe:

Then suddenly it came to him what might have caused the change.

Had he not refused to let her see to her mother's welfare when she felt that she must?  Had he not given her a full day to think about this, so that her anger toward him could build?

He saw the defiant anger in her eyes and stance.  Yet there was something else in her attitude, too.

Had she not flinched and taken a step away from him? Would not fear cause such behavior?

Mighty Wang later takes a moment to examine his father's clothes in extreme detail.  Both The Ladies and I find this interesting.  We also find Dad's storytelling interesting on the next page not to mention all the gifts the people gave him after.  It was a lot of interesting passages in a very brief period of time(less than 10 pages.)

...

Now again with food.  (I mean, seriously, extreme detail and food serving that doesn't fit the narrative at all.)  It was...I dunno...I think there were 4 large chunks in about 5 pages.  Too busy being dumbfounded by this much at once to check.

Anyway, despite now thinking he's a mass murderer or something, Busty BG is perfectly content to snuggle against and cling to Mighty Wang's manly, bare chest.  During the snuggling and ogling and internal declaractions of mutual love(please to be noting they've known each other for about 2 days now) Busty BG asks for a mythology lesson.  The Ladies and I both are clued in here by Mighty Wang's use of words like "subordinate," "readjusted,"  and the like.

People, I've been back at this for about 40 pages, and I don't think there's been a 5 page stretch without plagiarism.

Anyway, Mighty Wang decides gory mythology talk is the perfect foreplay.  He's right.  Busty BG forgets the trunk of scalps(and the kidnapping has never been an issue for her) and submits to the power of the Magnificent Savage Wang.  They break in the sex-a-thon for Busty BG to freak out about whether or not witchcraft is hereditary, then get back to it.

On page 241.

ETA 2:

Now that Busty BG has gone at it about half a dozen times her first time out with Mighty Wang, she has never felt more whole or fulfilled.  Such is the power of the Magnificent Savage Wang.  She spends a lot of time in solitary post-coital glow.

While wandering around looking for Mighty Wang, Busty BG bonds with village girls over sports.  I almost miss some plagiarism but am clued in by "extricate."  While playing, Busty BG randomly stops to fret over her mother a few times.

She wants to go back to town (note: he told her he'd take her back in the morning, she's in the right) he pulls "me man, you woman, you obey."  She stomps her feet and pulls the "was the sex just a game" line.

He stiull wins and she giggles in anticipation of another sex-a-thon.  Romance novel virgins are amazingly robust.  Busty BG runs off to pick flowers for Mom while Mighty Wang waits for Dad to die so he can be chief or something.  Wannabe Rapist has been lurking around and decides it's his time to kidnap her.  Hey, it worked out really well for Mighty Wang just a couple days ago.  Busty BG's main fear over this is that rape would make her unfit for Mighty Wang.

Mom hugs Busty BG then gives Wannabe Rapist permission to take her upstairs and rape her.  Mom is not as bad as she seems and bashes him over the head after her daughter strips.  Busty BG is mostly worried that Mighty Wang will just think she ran off, so she runs off and right smack into him.

The amazing convenience of it all killed brain cells.

Meanwhile, Mom is ranting at Wannabe Rapist.  Apparently being attracted to boys is a bigger crime in her book than murder and attempted rape.  And the whole witch hunt instigation.

Back at the village, Busty Bg frets a bit about the whole scalps thing, then gushes about how wonderful and kind Mighty Wang is.  She bonds with Sis over it, and gets scolded for snooping.  She says no one should blame her for snooping because the rules are new to her.  I'd have commentary, but in Cassie Edwards's world, white people have no morals, so why should she have ever been told not to snoop before?

Meanwhile, Busty BG has forgotten that Mighty Wang brought her to the village to get revenge for making the warriors alcoholics, and says it'd because Mighty Wang loves her.  That's ok.  I think Edwards forgot a long time ago, too.  Sis tells her they're grandpa's scalps, and all is well with the world.

Note:  Busty BG thinks she owes Mighty Wang endless apologies for looking under his bed now.  She does not think Mighty Wang owes her any for kidnapping her and holding a knife on her.

Sobbing.  Angst.  Ogling.  I almost fell asleep.  Dad denies them his approval.  I sigh over the coming angst.

On page 305.

ETA 3:

Dad dies.  They grieve by having another sex-a-thon.

Very respectful of them.

Busty BG thinks the aftermath is a good time to confess the snooping.  Rather smart of her, actually.  Mighty Wang is fine with this.  Busty BG says he should display the scalps so people will be scared.  He thinks this is a good idea.  They resume the sex-a-thon.

I think the minimal combined brain power they had has gone away.

Meanwhile, the witchhunt seems to finally be getting around to doing something.

Oh, since Edwards forgot to, you know, actually deal with it, all the men seem to be overthe alcoholism now.  She said so.

Blue Night, the alcoholic who recovered offpage(he wasn't even seen until now) was conveniently near town when the witchhunt starts.  I think he was trying to fall off the wagon.

I think Mighty Wang is going to take off to save mom now or something.  I don't know.

Yup, dramatic saving of Mom.  Token Loyal Black Servant wasn't deemed important so she died in the fire.  Or not.  Mom said it was Wannabe Rapist.  Whatever.

Note:  I'm fairly sure the amazing badness has made me miss many instances of plagiarism.  That, or she condensed so many into 40 pages that she felt safe leaving off with it for a while.

Mom reflects that Mighty Wang is "a man of honor...savage honor!"

I'd say she's forgotten that the man kidnapped her daughter...but I doubt she'd care.

Busty BG swears to be a good andf loyal wife, and asks Mighty Wang to tell her if she ever  disappounts him.  The soulds of a hundred feminists  were sacrificed to write this book.

Ah, here we go:

Beneath the moon's glow, the magnificent landscape was clearly visible.  It was a region of many wonders.  To the south were splashing waterfalls,  loamy bluffs, and beautiful, wonderful-smelling cedars and pines stretching high toward the bright and shining moon.

And then she saw it.  The hunting lodge sat near one of the waterfalls, where water roared and spilled over cavernous rocks into a body of water that stretched out, finger-like, in many directions, dissecting the land with springs and creeks.

The lodge was situated beside one of those springs.  In the moonlight she could see that the spring was wide, and surely deep.  Water was gushing forth from the middle, with tiny bubbles bursting to the surface as if there were some living force beneath that drove the water upward.

Mom explains something about their not being witches.  I honestly cannot begin to follow her logic.

Gushy epilogue with a dash of plagiarism to finish it up, and...THE END!!!!
