I enjoyed Daughter of the Forest but have never enjoyed any of the other books by her that I read so gave up. It wasn't that they were badly written, I just found them soooo depressing!

Also your posts about Cassie Edwards are hilarious. I used to really like reading romance novels but lately I have trouble reading them :)

Really? The only one I've ever found depressing was the 3rd Sevenwaters book. Both Bridei books have heavily focused on outcasts finding their place, though, as did Foxmask. You might like her YA books. Despite being labeled as YA, they really aren't simplified much or anything, but she doesn't put her characters through as much trauma there.

I had a bit of trepidation about The Well of Shades, too, but in the end, I thought it was the best of the three books. However, it's not the final book of the series.

Next she's working on Heir to Sevenwaters, a "stand-alone novel related to the Sevenwaters Trilogy," due out this year (in Austrialia, the U.S. and England).

In 2009 will be Heart's Blood, a "Gothic fantasy-romance."

And she has plans for a Book 4 in the Bridei Chronicles, but "no definite timeframe."

I think the 4th Sevenwaters book is supposed to be about the son of the couple in the second book.

Could be. I don't think it mentioned on her website what exactly it was about. Doesn't really matter much to me, she is one of the few authors that I will read whatever she puts out. :D
