Link away.

spcnet.tv has a lot of wuxia reviews, and _byakko has some...magicnoire has a fair bit of scifi and fantasy anime reviews at her LJ...beyond that, all i have off the top of my head are my wuxia, anime and manga tags.

Well, it's kind of shorthand for "feisty girl who's not easily intimidated," yes?

(This instantly got me thinking about other tough girls who end up in romantic situations, and it occurs to me that you might like Diana Wynne Jones' Deep Secret, although what Maree does to Rupert when he first comes after her is only a punch in the most metaphorical sense ... .)

it's also a good indication she won't stand around wringing her hands and fretting over whether or not he loves her for the rest of the series...and isn't a doormat.

What's the book about?

Total word.

And hi, fellow reader of Basara!

What does it say about me that I now want to read all the manga that I'm unfamiliar with now?

As far aws I'm concerned, Basara is the best manga known to man.

And you want to read the other because you recognize good manga and strong heroines when you see them.

That's true. I was looking at the photos going... these look like girls... and they actually are! *glee*

And while I wouldn't go that far with Basara, it's quite fun. (Is is wrong, though, that while I get all mushy about Sasara/Red King, I kind of want to ship her with the blue cloaked guy who lost his eye for her?)

True. I will concede that Blade of the Immortal is better, but that's as far as I go.

I think shipping Sarasa/Ageha makes perfect sense...anyone who denies getting at least a little need to do that is just deluding themselves.
