Chu is a violent angsty hottie in the TV version, too, it's just negated by his moral superiority. And yeah, they WERE rather hot(incidentally, did you know that that one cap of then about to kiss absolutely refuses to be turned into anything moderately usable?)
Aside from Fang(who's akmost exactly the same) I really didn't care for how they did the village stuff here...all the relationships are radically different(as I understand it, the way they are in the series is the way they are in the book) There is a triangle in the series, bit it's with Han, Fang and Mulang with Fang still believing she loves Chu. There, the utmost priority for both was her happiness. I think what got to me was that the way they did that triangle completely robbed Han of his decency and kindness.

But it's interesting about how the triangle with the villagers was nonexistent in the TV version. Hmmm.
