random viewing: Dresden Files ep 1.2, kdrama: Emperor of the Sea and HBO's Elizabeth I

Much viewing, longish stuff under the cuts.

Tonight’s Dresden Files was pretty good. Better than last week’s ep., I think, especially since we actually got to see Murphy do more, as she, Harry and Bob are the main characters. I was a bit surprised that they seem to be jumping straight to Harry/Murphy feelings/attraction suppression, which really ( Read more... )

I'm trying not to read the part about the Kdrama. All I want to know is that did anyone die for no reason in the end? lol. For that long of a show I always want to know those things before I start watching.

I wanted to watch Elizabeth I too, but haven't been able to catch it while I'm home. ugh.

Not for no reason, no. But it's the "no reasom" part that should be paid attention to. It really is an excellent series though, no matter what.

that's good. I hate that when they want to make something dramatic or memorable they had to kill someone (or give them stupid cancer). As long as the death means something I don't mind.

Hmmm. After the Emperor of the Sea write-up, I am a bit confused (I couldn't really follow who was who very well because am sleep deprived due to Loveholic) but this bit made me perk up my ears:

slavery, torture, and the gladiator’s ring

Ummm. Ummmmmmm. Are there pictures of the cast? Because this sounds most tempting. But I must make sure there are no unsightly beards :D

How long is this? I am asking because so far Goong is the longest drama I've watch (24 eps of over an hour each) and I think that's about the limit for me. And, more importantly, is there romantic angst and the stares of UST?

I really might get this though, if I like Damo, because that would be the deciding factor on whether I am interested in Korean period dramas (you know me. I like angsty school/college OTPs, less with general court intrigue).

Emperor is really, really complex in its characterizations and relationship, so it's hard to write about it without doing a play by play. I posted a picspam a while back...there are beards, but they aren't unsightly...unlike Damo, I didn't even have to adjust to them, here.

it's 51 episodes, and shorter than some other period dramas(the only 2 I know of that are short are Damo-14 eps and Hwang Jin Yi-24 eps) In a way, I actually wish it had been longer. I shall now live in hopes of a quest-for-revenge sequel.

The levels of romantic angst and UST have made me hoarse. Even more so than Damo(but that's cuz it's 3 times as long, but on all levels, Damo gets the win from me)

Question about Dresden...I was flipping by Sci-Fi and thought I saw Terrence Mann? Was that him? I didn't see the cast list.

*nods* He plays Bob, the ultra-snarky 1000 year old ghost who misses his sex life.
