So, I haven't picked up a superhero comic that didn't involve Jubilee in...I don't know how many years. Well before she became a vampire. When I did read more superhero comics, I sometimes read Captain America (I have most of the run with Rachel Leighton/Diamondback, Brubaker's run until sometime after Buck became Cap, and a bunch of odds and ends

I'm just so disgusted by the whole thing! And I don't even read Marvel comics because they have a gazillion storylines and I prefer having one story, so I stick to manga and the occasional Image comics. But this, they should be ashamed of themselves, this is so far beyond being tone-deaf! I saw a quote from an interview and the creators were so proud of "slapping the readers in the face". That reminded me of how proud Rothenberg was for his shitty AI storyline while the LGBT community was crushed by yet another iteration of Bury Your Gays. I'm so sick of this, every time we thing there's progress, they just show us that there can't be any!

There are a lot of people saying they don't see what the big deal is because we know they'll "fix" it soon, which is missing the point.

I've seen that argument and people were saying 6 months-1 year. That's not even "soon", that's terribly far away. I can't believe they're doing that storyline while they're also having Sam as Cap in another run. It's like they thought they would get everybody's money if they had a racist storyline on one side and a progressive storyline on the other side. That's bloody ridiculous!
